Expert advice

Dr. Sophie Domergue, Aesthetic Doctor

"The number one cause of skin aging is UV exposure, especially UVA rays. They're present all year long and penetrate deeply—even on cloudy days or through windows. That’s why daily sun protection is essential."

Frequently asked questions

Should I protect my skin from UV rays all year round?

Yes—UVA rays are present year-round, regardless of the weather. They pass through clouds and windows, reaching the deeper layers of the skin and accelerating aging. A daily SPF is essential—even in the city.

What’s the difference between UVA and UVB?

UVA = aging, UVB = burning. UVA rays degrade collagen and elastin, while UVB rays cause sunburn. A good sunscreen protects against both.

How do UV rays impact the skin?

They disrupt the skin barrier and microbiome, damage keratinocytes, and trigger oxidative stress and inflammation—leading to pigmentation, dehydration, and premature aging.

Why is UVA protection particularly important?

UVA rays reach the dermis, damaging fibroblasts and breaking down collagen and elastin. The result? Fine lines, loss of firmness, and persistent redness.

Can I use sunscreen during pregnancy?

Yes – and it’s actually recommended. During pregnancy, the skin becomes more sensitive and more prone to pigmentation spots such as melasma. Both mineral and chemical filters are permitted during pregnancy under European regulations.
Our Daily SPF has been formulated to offer invisible, lightweight, and effective protection – perfectly suited for expecting mothers.
