Frequently asked questions

What is rosacea?
Rosacea is a chronic skin condition — more complex than a simple flush or redness. It affects around 4 million people in France, mostly women over 30, and is more common among fair and sensitive skin types. It usually appears on the face and manifests as persistent redness, heightened sensitivity, and sometimes discomfort. While not serious, rosacea can significantly affect skin confidence and quality of life.
What are the different types of rosacea?
Rosacea can appear in several forms: Vascular rosacea (or couperose): characterized by temporary or permanent redness (flushes or erythema) and visible small blood vessels. These skins are typically very reactive and sensitive. Papulopustular rosacea: marked by inflammatory bumps without blackheads, often linked to an excess of the Demodex folliculorum parasite. It may cause tightness, tingling, or burning sensations. Less common forms include ocular rosacea (affecting the eyes) and phymatous rosacea (skin thickening, especially around the nose).
What causes rosacea?
Rosacea has multiple causes, involving both internal and external factors. The gut–skin axis plays a major role: an imbalance in the gut microbiome (dysbiosis) can lead to chronic low-grade inflammation and increased skin reactivity. An altered skin microbiome may also encourage the overgrowth of Demodex folliculorum, linked to certain types of rosacea. Diet has a strong influence: excess sugar, saturated fats, or alcohol can weaken the microbiome, while fiber, antioxidants, and omega-3s help restore balance. External aggressors — pollution, temperature changes, UV exposure — are also common triggers.
Which dietary supplements should you choose for rosacea and sensitive skin?

It’s best to consult a healthcare professional to identify rosacea and make sure your dietary supplements are compatible with any treatment. Supplements can support the skin from within — helping to rebalance, soothe, and strengthen it.

At Aime, French Glow combines four key active ingredients:

  • Probiotics: restore gut and skin microbiome balance, reduce inflammation, and reinforce the skin barrier.
  • Hyaluronic acid: hydrates and improves skin elasticity.
  • Borage oil: rich in essential fatty acids, it nourishes and soothes the skin.
  • Alpha-lipoic acid: a powerful antioxidant that helps reduce inflammation.

For enhanced results, French Glow can be combined with L-Glutamine Barrier+, which helps strengthen the gut barrier and optimize nutrient absorption.

What skincare routine helps soothe rosacea and its symptoms?

Alongside your supplement routine, adopt a gentle skincare ritual that respects your skin’s sensitivity:

  • Gentle cleansing: use oil or cream cleansers and avoid hard water.
  • Daily hydration: choose fragrance-free products suitable for sensitive skin.
  • Sun protection: a high SPF is essential, as sun exposure is one of the main triggers.

Simple habits can also make a difference — manage stress, stay hydrated, and follow an anti-inflammatory diet rich in whole foods, vegetables, omega-3, and fiber. Limiting alcohol, gluten, dairy, sugar, spicy foods, hot drinks, and stimulants can also help calm the skin.
