Why take collagen and at what age should I start?

From the age of 25 and throughout life, a minimum three-month course of marine collagen can help support skin, hair and nail health while slowing visible signs of ageing.

Natural collagen production begins to decline from around the age of 25, decreasing by approximately 1% each year. Supplementation may therefore be considered from the late twenties onwards to help support the skin and connective tissues over time.

What is the difference compared with the previous formula?

Our new formula uses Type I hydrolysed marine collagen in the form of tripeptides, with a molecular weight of approximately 500 daltons, compared with 4,000 daltons for the hydrolysed collagen used in the previous formula.

These significantly smaller tripeptides are absorbed more rapidly and efficiently by the body. They can pass directly through the intestinal barrier, making them quickly available to tissues, particularly the skin.

With bioavailability up to five times higher, the daily dose has been optimised: 3g per day instead of 10g previously, for maximum absorption with a simpler daily routine.

Can collagen be taken every day?

Yes. Collagen is commonly taken daily over several weeks or months to provide ongoing support for collagen-rich tissues such as the skin and joints.

What type of collagen is used?

This is a next-generation Type I hydrolysed marine collagen with an ultra-low molecular weight of 500 daltons and a neutral taste.

The hydrolysis process breaks collagen down into collagen peptides, making it easier for the body to absorb and utilise.

Is the range compatible with pregnancy and breastfeeding?

These supplements may be taken during pregnancy and breastfeeding. However, as a general precaution, we recommend consulting a healthcare professional before starting any supplementation programme.

Can collagen be mixed into a hot drink?

Yes. You can mix our Collagen Tripeptides into your coffee, tea, or any other hot beverage without affecting their effectiveness. Collagen tripeptides remain stable at the temperatures typically used for everyday drinks (we recommend up to 70°C / 158°F). The temperature of your beverage will therefore not compromise their benefits or their absorption by the body.
