The hair regeneration cycle
A hair is born in a hair follicle . It goes through different phases throughout its life: growth, rest and death . This cycle generally lasts several years. On average, a hair follicle gives birth to 20 or 25 hairs after which it no longer functions. Hair loss is therefore a natural process to the extent of 50 to 100 hairs per day, but can be more worrying if you notice a significant decrease in your hair mass. In order to prevent hair loss, it is important to prolong the hair growth phase and stimulate growth. In order for the hair follicle to regenerate , it must be nourished with vitamins, minerals, amino acids, etc. These essential nutrients are provided by the blood via the network of capillaries (small and fine blood vessels).
How to nourish your hair?
Hair, like skin and nails, requires a supply of minerals. To be deeply nourished, the scalp needs:
- Vitamin B : stimulates keratin synthesis
- Lipids : ensure hair elasticity and promote shine
- Minerals and antioxidants : fight against the aging of the hair fiber and slow hair loss
Keratin: natural protein and main component of hair. It is made up of 3 layers:
- The cuticle: protects the hair
- The cortex: gives elasticity and vigor to the hair
- The medulla: plays no role in the vitality of the hair
These nutrients are present in our food , but also in hair food supplements . It is recommended to adopt a balanced and varied diet and to supplement it with the intake of a suitable food supplement to ensure a sufficient intake of nutrients.
A balanced diet
Hair quality can be weakened by various factors: unsuitable shampoo, drying at too high a temperature, pollution, cold, sun, sea salt, etc. A balanced diet will nourish the body and therefore promote a healthy scalp. Choose seafood, meats and cheeses rich in zinc. Zinc helps keep hair healthy , from root to tip. You will find vitamin B in dried fruits (walnuts, almonds, etc.) and fruits such as apples and strawberries. B vitamins allow the synthesis of keratin and therefore contribute to good hair growth. Keratin is produced thanks to two sulfur-containing amino acids : methionine and cysteine. To absorb amino acids, it is recommended to eat meat. Foods rich in antioxidants are also recommended, such as berries, fruits and parsley, in order to limit hair loss .
Hair food supplements
However, it is not always easy to find certain nutrients in our diet. This is why you can take hair food supplements . As their name suggests, food supplements complement a balanced diet, they do not replace it and are not medicines. The benefits of food supplements are no longer to be proven, they constitute an additional nutritional intake that will help the body to function healthily. They intervene to fill a nutritional deficiency or relieve ailments, in the form of capsules, tablets, capsules, liquids, powder...

Marine collagen supplementation can also be beneficial for your hair. While it has proven benefits for skin beauty, collagen offers numerous benefits for hair and nails: it boosts hair growth, limits split ends, and slows hair loss.
Beauty gestures
Using a shampoo that is suitable for your hair type is necessary, but it will not be enough to guarantee you healthy, shiny, and voluminous hair.
When it comes to your hair care routine, just like when cleaning your skin , choose a gentle cosmetic product that won't harm your scalp. Choose a shampoo and conditioner that respects the nature of your hair.
Massage your scalp regularly: Using a scalp massager brush removes dead skin cells and impurities, while stimulating good blood circulation, which is essential for healthy, better-growing hair.
Wash your hair once or twice a week at most to avoid damaging and tiring it. Washing your hair too often can increase sebum production and therefore make your hair oily more quickly.
In everyday life, do not wear headgear too often (cap, hat, etc.) which traps the hair and prevents it from breathing.
