À la rencontre de Flore et Pauline, fondatrices de La Bonne Brosse

How did you come up with the idea of founding La Bonne Brosse?

Flore: In 2015, I started losing my hair like never before. I was losing it in handfuls, to the point of crying... I then realized that the subject was quite taboo and that I was far from alone. I tried everything: injections, pills, ampoules... Only Véronique Lamrani, a hair and scalp expert, was able to make the right diagnosis and show me the best way to get back beautiful, coated, shiny hair and a irrigated scalp: brushing. Although I was skeptical at first, in just two weeks, the first results were visible.

Pauline: As soon as Flore told me about it, I also quickly became addicted to brushing. My observation? Women know dozens of shampoo brands, compared to almost none of hairbrushes, even though 95% of them use a brush every day! The idea of a brand universe, of a beautiful designer object, as beautiful as it is good, began to emerge. And over the course of our conversations, the project of creating THE Good Brush, made in France, an extremely high-quality tool for beautiful hair and a healthy scalp, emerged.

What are the brand values?

Pauline: The commitment to sustainable beauty. We were committed to producing sustainable objects that teach us to take care of our hair differently and by significantly reducing our daily consumption of cosmetics with sometimes questionable compositions and single-use plastic pollutants... Regular brushing is the ultimate "slow beauty" gesture since it can reduce the use of hair cosmetic products by half!

But also artisanal quality. Our partners, designers, and living heritage companies (EPV) guarantee us products for a lifetime that have a soul and a reduced environmental footprint without compromise.

Has returning to something as essential as brushing your hair changed your view of holistic beauty?

Flore: Pauline and I have always been very committed to using fewer products, but more beneficial products. This is what makes us more sensitive to the subject of holistic beauty, as a beauty that is not necessarily synonymous with accumulating products but rather based on finding the right products that will do us good.

In your opinion, what are the essential beauty steps to incorporate into your daily routine?

Flore: For us, the two best products in the world are water and sleep! It's as basic as that sometimes, it's the simplest things that are the most essential: drinking water, sleeping well, watching your diet, and supplementing it with food supplements when necessary. Regarding the products to use, I think everyone has different needs, I prefer to talk about tools like the hairbrush or the body brush, which is very important for cell renewal with dry brushing.

Besides brushing, what are your tips for taking care of your hair?

Flore: Once again, hydrate well! But also learn to reconnect with your hair: touch it, observe it, don't see it as a fixed material. By learning to know your scalp, you take better care of it. The third piece of advice we could give is to avoid washing it too frequently. In summer, for example, after a day at the pool or the sea, there's no point in shampooing every time; you can simply rinse it. Moreover, for those lucky enough to be going to the sea this summer, don't hesitate to put your head under water and massage the scalp with seawater. In addition to eliminating dead cells with salt, seawater, rich in trace elements, is very good for your scalp!

How to choose the right hairbrush?

Flore: A brush with boar bristles is always good, it polishes the hair, it will make it shine and distribute the sebum well. After the reason why we created the Miracle N.04 brush with Aime, it is because it is the most massaging and stimulating for the scalp and above all, it is the only brush that suits everyone. With the N.04 we are sure not to go wrong!

Any upcoming projects?

Flore: We have quite a few projects. We have a new color coming this summer, we're working on a blow-dry brush in September, and then we have a project around a range of hair products that will arrive a little later.

What are your favorite Aime products?

Flore and Pauline: The body brush , as with hair, we are fans of this body brushing gesture which allows to drain well and improve the texture of the skin. And to complete our hair routine in addition to brushing, we love Hair & Scalp Boost, perfect for taking care of the scalp in depth.
